2006 Hyundai Sonata Interior Information

From the 6-Disc CD Changer to the Heated Leather Seats the Hyundai Sonata's interior is definitely something to behold. What impresses me the most is how quiet the interior is at highway speeds. In fact, edmunds.com rated it quieter than the 2007 Toyota Camry in a recent comparison. The driver's seat is equipped with 8-way electronic controls to customize the seating position to your liking. The passenger's seat has normal manual controls.

The rear seats have plenty of room for almost any passenger. I found myself with plenty of legroom, and I am 6' 2" tall. I have also had the chance to have a baby seat positioned in the back seat along with a few other passengers and they all fit nicely. In fact my neices were telling me how much bigger my car is than the one they are used to riding in. They also commented on how nice the leather looks. If you choose to the the leather interior you can choose from light grey and beige. Obviously, I went with the light grey.

The steering wheel controls allow you to control the mode the radio is in and the volume. If I were to have a main complaint about the Sonata it would be that I cannot change the radio station or CD track from the steering wheel. I can't see how the folks at Hyundai could have missed this simple add-on. I think it would have made a huge difference. Luckily the radio controls are very well layed out so when you have to change the station or CD Track you can do it almost without looking. The steering wheel is also equipped with Cruise Control controls. They are the normal layout, set, accel, and so on. It works great, but there really isn't much to report about it.

Take a look at the pictures I've taken and you'll see how well layed out the interior is. From looking at the pictures you'll see that Hyundai took a lot of time thinking about how everything will be used. For instance, look at the lights on the vanity mirror. They are mounted on the ceiling instead of the actual visor. Also the cup holders are adjustable to handle large and small drinks effectively.
